Referring a patient? For dentistsFor physiciansSend a referralEspañol
For kids & teens

You don't have to wait for the dentist to say so.

The American Dental Association recommends children are checked at age seven, whether or not a dentist has mentioned it — and most children who come at seven need nothing yet. You do not need a referral to be seen. What you want is the right orthodontist, the right timing, and a price that doesn't knock the wind out of you. Since 2009, this is the core of the practice — and every review the practice has is a parent who stood where you're standing.

The consult itself is free and takes about an hour. You leave with a plan and the number, whatever you decide.

Both of our kids were treated at Los Angeles Orthodontics with Dr. Rehana Khan, and it honestly never felt like a typical doctor’s office. Every visit felt easy and relaxed, more like catching up with friends than an appointment.

As you can see from other reviews, Dr. Khan and her team are not only incredibly skilled, but genuinely kind and welcoming. You can feel how much they care. We’re so grateful for the experience and the beautiful results.

Amazing staff and Doctor it’s been so amazing to find this office for both my boys. It’s a family affair. They took care of all of us. It’s been a pleasure to know them. Anyone who gets them is a lucky client.

Care by age and stage

Early treatment (age 7+)

A first orthodontic check, and intervention only when acting early genuinely helps. Many children just get monitored.

Teen braces

Dependable, hands-off, nothing to remember or lose.

Teen Invisalign

Nearly invisible, removable for sports and instruments — for teens who'll wear them.

Retainers

Keeping the result after the braces come off.

My Daughter has been going to Santa Monica Orthodontics for about a year and a half. They have done a great job creating space for incoming teeth followed with braces for a great smile.

Every member of the staff from the Orthodontist, support technician, and the great front staff make the process easy as possible and my Daughter couldn’t be happier.

I highly suggest anyone considering orthodontic work to stop by and schedule an initial consultation so you can hear from them yourself

Braces or Invisalign?

Two good options, and a trend.

Both work. Dr. Khan has watched more and more of her kids and teens choose traditional braces, and she often recommends them.

Traditional braces

These are not your mama’s braces. Today’s brackets are smaller, and kids change the colors every single month, which is a big part of why braces are the trendy choice with kids and teens right now. For many cases they can also be the faster and more effective tool, because they work around the clock without anyone having to remember them.

Parents like them because: no lost trays, no fight to get them worn, and no extra trip to the orthodontist because the dog ate them. It happens.

Teen Invisalign

Nearly invisible, and removable for sports, instruments and photos. The honest test is whether your teen will wear them all day, every day, and that is a conversation Dr. Khan has with the parent and the teen together.

She gives her recommendation, explains the trade-off each way, and if both would work, she says so.

What it costs

The question every parent has. Insurance with orthodontic benefits, monthly plans, and every other option are on the cost page. Nothing gated, nothing hidden behind a form.

Dr. Khan and her whole team are wonderful. I specifically sought our the doctor because of her extensive knowledge and care. My experience was absolutely the best of any dentist or orthodontist I’ve ever seen. I cannot recommend the office enough. Her team is supportive, responsive, and so detail oriented. They can help walk you through what your insurance will cover, keep you up to date on your appointment steps, and the doctor will always take time to answer questions.
