Teen braces

Dependable and hands-off: nothing to remember, nothing to lose, working around the clock through the years when correction is most efficient.

★★★★★

My Daughter has been going to Santa Monica Orthodontics for about a year and a half. They have done a great job creating space for incoming teeth followed with braces for a great smile.

Every member of the staff from the Orthodontist, support technician, and the great front staff make the process easy as possible and my Daughter couldn’t be happier.

I highly suggest anyone considering orthodontic work to stop by and schedule an initial consultation so you can hear from them yourself

★★★★★

I have been going to Santa Monica Orthodontics since I was in elementary school and when my teeth were crooked and had gigantic gaps. To say that Dr. Khan and Roger fixed my teeth would be an understatement and I am truly grateful that they were able to help me out as efficiently, kindly, and effectively as they could throughout all these years. Thank you!

An adjustment in progress

What treatment looks like

Braces are placed in one or two appointments. After that, visits are periodic and brief — adjustments, progress checks, and answering whatever has come up since the last visit.

You will know at each stage what is happening and roughly what comes next. Soreness after adjustments is normal and usually short-lived; the office will tell you how to manage it.

Sports, instruments, and real life

A family in the waiting room

Braces and sports coexist — a mouthguard over the braces is the answer, and the office will help you get the right one.

Wind and brass players usually adapt within a few weeks, and wax helps in the meantime. Tell Dr. Khan what your teen plays or competes in; it may change the advice she gives.
